Legacy of Pt. Ghanaram & Pt. Hariram

Established with a vision to democratise higher education in the heart of Bundelkhand, Pt. Ghanaram Hariram Mahavidyalaya (PGHM) stands as a beacon of academic resilience in Orai, Jalaun. Our journey began in 2007, named in honour of revered scholars whose commitment to rural empowerment through knowledge remains our guiding light.

From a modest beginning, PGHM has evolved into a premier multidisciplinary college affiliated with Bundelkhand University, Jhansi — a NAAC A++ accredited university with over 365 affiliated colleges. We have steadily expanded our academic portfolio, today offering 11 specialised courses across 7 degree programmes, serving students from Orai, Konch, Jalaun, Kalpi, and surrounding rural communities of Bundelkhand.

Orai — the administrative headquarters of Jalaun district — sits at the heart of Bundelkhand on National Highway 27, bounded by the Yamuna, Betwa, and Pahuj rivers. This historically rich city, shaped by the legacy of Maharaja Chhatrasal and the freedom struggle of 1857, is where PGHM planted its roots to serve a region that has long deserved greater access to quality higher education.
